Sébastien Grans

Senior Software Engineer — backend, quality, architecture and controlled agentic delivery

Drawing on experience across varied products and business domains, I turn complex needs into reliable, maintainable software. I now extend that practice with agentic development workflows grounded in specifications, tests and human validation.

PHP/Laravel/Symfony, APIs, production, functional ontology, adapted Paperclip, bounded agents, CI/CD and human decisions.

Technical foundation

Core skills

A software-engineering foundation built across varied business contexts, now extended through agent orchestration and versioned knowledge contracts.

Agentic development and pragmatic architecture

spec-driven development and context engineering · Agent orchestration · human validation (formalized commits/PRs, specialist pre-review) · pragmatic architecture — YAGNI · versioned ontology and knowledge contracts

API contracts, access and data

documented and tested API contracts · backward compatibility · role-based access control · stable public identifiers · fit-for-purpose storage, caching and asynchronous processing

Quality and testing

multi-layer testing · mutation-challenged tests · phased specification validation · agentic coverage audits · semantic search followed by dependency, data-flow and impact validation

Delivery and operability

isolated, reproducible environments · CI/CD validation before deployment · progressive delivery and rollback · observability and incident diagnosis · secret-safe operations

Three complementary pieces of evidence

The breadth of the background demonstrates adaptability, Evina proves critical production experience, and Sonomundi shows the current agentic direction.

Sonomundi — controlling agentic delivery end to end

A solo-built event and music product: a Laravel/Vue monolithic core complemented by specialized Python services.

Each change is framed by a specification, isolated by branch/worktree, assessed for impact, tested and reviewed before integration.

A traceable, reproducible workflow applied to a demonstrable product, with no auto-merge and human integration decisions.

Evina — delivering and raising quality across critical services

High-traffic FinTech and cybersecurity services.

Delivered requested features, improved code quality across the service portfolio and upgraded PHP/framework versions throughout, alongside MySQL and Redis optimization of fraud data.

More maintainable and up-to-date services, delivered business features, lower MySQL load and stronger production stability.

Different domains, the same delivery standard

FinTech, cybersecurity, retirement services, HR CRM, API integrations, optimization and events.

In each context: understand the need, work with the existing system, deliver the expected features, and strengthen tests, readability, documentation and operability.

Adaptability grounded in transferable engineering practices, beyond any single framework or industry.

Trajectory

From technical autonomy to team leadership

The Event Project Management course served a broader goal than learning about the events industry. Its three blocks — contributing to strategy, designing the project and then managing delivery — matched the commercial, strategic and collective dimensions I wanted to add to my technical foundation.

  • My attendance certificate records 1,000 training hours. My actual investment was probably higher once personal work and deeper study are included; I nevertheless keep 1,000 hours as the only verifiable figure in professional documents.
  • In professional roles, I have mainly worked with a high degree of autonomy. As a technical referent, I explained decisions, reviewed code and supported developers, but I claim limited experience in line management or formal team leadership.
  • I transferred concepts from the course into Sonomundi: need and MVP framing, prioritization, specifications, planning, risk management, role allocation, readiness indicators, reporting, feedback collection and continuous improvement.
  • With Sonomundi, I now practise another form of coordination: explicit goals and specifications, work distributed across specialized agents, bounded contexts and responsibilities, outcome tracking, arbitration and final validation.
  • A team of agents is not a substitute for a human team. This practice nevertheless strengthens transferable skills in framing, delegation, feedback, quality control and decision-making that I want to bring to a collaborative environment.

My goal is to grow into a role where I can remain hands-on while helping a team understand priorities, make sound decisions and deliver together.

Sonomundi, a long-term project

A solo Laravel/Vue event and music product developed since December 2025. I am taking the time to complete it properly, with no rushed launch schedule and a gradual release once it is sufficiently polished.

  • Event, artist and track flow, documented API and multi-role authentication.
  • Versioned ontology connecting domain entities, relations, invariants, functional capabilities, surfaces, roles and test evidence.
  • Static inventory of main on July 16, 2026: 2,189 declared PHPUnit tests across 401 PHP files; 3,320 commits.
  • Developed outside working hours and pausable: Sonomundi does not affect my full availability to an employer.

I adapted Paperclip as the control plane for a multi-agent workflow: specification-derived work packages, specialized responsibilities, bounded tasks, documentary memory, isolated branches and worktrees, Docker/CI validation and pull-request pre-review. There is no auto-merge: integration and technical decisions remain human.
